The San Francisco Giants have put themselves in a prime position to make their move in the NL West race. With their big win against one of the top pitcher's in the game Ubaldo Jimenez on Wednesday, along with a big 7 game slide by the West leading Padres, the Giants find themselves just 3 games back of the Division lead.
This road trip will make or break the Giants season, as the final 4 games of the trip are against the Padres. That will mark the last time they will face the Pads this season and the last time they will have control of their destiny.
But fist things first...the hated Dodgers! Barry Zito has a tough task against the Dodgers young core hitters Matt Kemp, James Loney, and Andre Ethier. Luckily for him it's a night game and the ball doesn't travel well at all at night at Chavez Ravine.
The Giants will be facing young 26 year old righty Chad Billingsley. He is tough, but suprisingly he is not as tough at home. He has a 4.63 era at home and a 2.93 era on the road. It should be a great game and a great series. Stay tuned.
