Going into tonight's game vs the Diamondbacks, Barry Zito is the only starting pitcher that hasn't got it together down the stretch run in September. I for one am predicting that his professional and personal pride will drive him to pitch better. He is a veteran who has been there time after time, and these young pitchers are going to need him the closer they get to the post-season.
I don't know how the rest of the season will play out for Zito, but here is my prediction for the game tonight vs the D-Backs.
7 IP 5 hits, 1 ER, 7 Ks, 1 BB.
Post ur predictions below.
Well, I was actually pretty close. He got the loss, but you have to pin that on the offense. 1 run in the 1st, and THAT'S IT! I knew his personal pride wouldn't allow him to have a bad game. He was gonna battle out there.
ReplyDeleteHe went 6 innings, gave up 4 hits, 2 runs, with 7 k's and 3 walks. Not bad. If he throws quality starts like this one out there the rest of the season, I'll be happy.
